This is the microscope I’m planning to use as a starting point for building a 3D printer. The handle at the top can be turned, moving the Z axis slowly up and down. The XY table is mounted on this picture. It has a glass where the stuff to be inspected would be placed.
There used to be a light from underneath the microscope, pointing up to the working area. The X-Y table is supposed to be attached on top of the lens.

This is the light source, which is mirrored inside the microscope base to light up the working area. I’ll remove this part.
Wow, old fashioned electronics are always fun!
The handle at the top of the Z-axis came off easily. Here I will place a stepper motor somehow. I will probably be needing gears for this.
